Space-4-Shoots

Space-4-Shoots’ next photography networking party will be Friday May 29 from 7-10 pm.  It’s for models, photographers, MUAs, agents, designers, etc.

1.  This party is being co-produced and co-hosted by Lidia Byhower, the super talented photographer, MUA, and web designer (and she ought to be a model too!).  Many of you know Lidia and if you don’t, this is a chance to meet her.

2.  We will have our usual two raffles where a model can win a $200 shoot either by “look” or by “luck” with talented photographers at the party.  Raffle times are 8:30 and 9:00 pm.  There will also be a special raffle for MUAs and hair stylists!

3.  The price of admission for this party is to bring with you (and not just invite) one of your favorite counterparts in the business!  Photographers, bring a favorite model or MUA.  Models, bring a favorite model, photographer, or MUA, etc.

4.  We will be projecting images on the wall rather than on a computer screen.  You can bring your best work to share (up to 10 jpgs in a single folder/directory with your name).  We’ll pass around a microphone if you want to say something when yours are up.  Also bring business cards, portfolios, etc. to leave behind or show.

Let us know soon if you want to attend the party on the 29th.  We are limiting the guest list to about 50 people, since we are asking each guest to bring someone with them;)

Acclaimed fashion photographer Alexandre Saveliev (MM , alexandresaveliev.com) is offering a 6 hour photography workshop at Space-4-Shoots on Saturday, May 23rd.  Alexandre will teach his lighting technique and how to direct and bring the best out of a model.  Cost is $150 for the six hours starting at 11 am.

It’s been Space-4-Shoots premise from the start that two separate shoots can happen at the studio at the same time.   On Saturday, May 2nd, it happened with two photographers and sets of models overlapping for more than 5 hours.  One shot in the front half of the studio and the second in the back half under the tents.  At times the only thing separating them was the fraction of a millimeter of black seamless paper with both shooting against opposite sides of it!  With the music loud enough, each shoot was in their own world.

It worked;)
